Meet the Ringstead family...

I joined Ringstead Primary School in April 2015 as the EYFS and Year 1 Class Teacher. In September 2019, I became the Head of School and continued to teach in Early Years. In September 2020, I took on my current role at Ringstead as Headteacher.

In my spare time, I am a Flight Lieutenant within the RAF Air Cadets.  I am responsible for running the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award across South and East Midlands Wing, which involves supporting over 30 squadrons in enabling cadets to achieve their Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards.

I have a young family, consisting of two daughters, who as they age will hopefully enjoy the outdoors as much as my husband and I do!

Mrs Helen Roberts

Headteacher / Designated Safeguarding Lead / EVC / English Lead

Teachers:

Hello, I'm Mrs McGill. I taught at Ringstead Primary School from 2012 - 2017 and then returned in 2022! I'm passionate about learning through play and will read a story at any given opportunity! Outside of school, I enjoy a spot of gardening, woodland walks with my family, photography, history, tea drinking and cake eating.

Mrs Lucy McGill

Owls Class Teacher (part-time) / Phonics Lead

I started at Ringstead in September 2022.  I previously taught in a similar-sized school for 9 years and before that, in a school in London. I’ll be teaching Owl Class Monday to Wednesday morning and am looking forward to plenty of creative learning both in and outside the classroom.

In my spare time, I’m very involved in our local church sometimes playing or singing in the band, leading mums’ groups and helping lead our older youth group.

My husband and I have two teenage daughters and together we love anything to do with the sea and exploring together. We love making campfires, camping, swimming, body boarding and kayaking. If I have any time left, I enjoy gardening, running, getting arty, playing the piano and, best of all, spending time with family and friends and having a good natter!

Mrs Kirsty Clark

Owls Class Teacher (part-time) / RE Lead

Hello, I’m Mrs Tyman, I started teaching at Ringstead School in September 2022.

I love being part of the great team here and it is wonderful to teach the Year 2 children in Falcon Class.

In my spare time, I like to read, stay active and spend time with my family. I also like music and can often be heard singing with my class!

Mrs Anna Tyman

Falcons Class Teacher / Science Lead / Music Lead

Hello, I am Mrs Thornton. I started teaching at Ringstead in November 2022. I teach in Falcons Monday – Wednesday. I love the welcoming feel to the school and could not wait to join the team.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my young family. We enjoy muddy walks and days out!

Mrs Katie Thornton

Falcons Class Teacher (part-time) / Art and DT Lead

Mrs Thornton is currently on maternity leave.

joined Ringstead in September 2011 and have thoroughly enjoyed my journey within the school.

I love History and originally trained as an archaeologist before moving into teaching. In my spare time I can often be found visiting old places, reading or attending the theatre.

Ravens Class Teacher / History Lead

I have just started here at Ringstead this September 2023. I have just finished university and am excited to have a class of my own. The schools I have previously taught in have all been much bigger and the change to a smaller school is something I am extremely excited for.

In my spare time, I love to play video games and delve into Marvel film.  At the weekend you might find me cheering on Kettering Town (The Poppies) with my Grandad.

Mr Cameron Millard

Kestrels Class Teacher

I first started working at Ringstead Primary 5 years ago, where I taught PE one morning a week and I absolutely loved it. I did this for 3 years then returned to Manor School in Raunds to continue teaching PE to years 7 to year 11.

I then joined the Ringstead team in September 2021.  Where I love sharing my passion for all sports, particularly Gymnastics, Athletics and Netball.

In my spare time I love going to the gym, running, cycling and yoga. I also have been lucky enough to have travelled to many different countries and love trying out the local food. My favourite places are Australia, Dubai and America. At the weekends, I enjoy going to the theatre and relaxing with family and friends.

Mrs Debbie Sanders

PE Teacher

I started at Ringstead in September 2023, and I am looking forward to learning all about the local area and getting to know the families and community here. I previously taught in a two-form entry school so I cannot wait to enjoy being in a smaller school and hopefully learning every child's name across the school! I have experience teaching in Upper KS2 and will be teaching Hawks class. I look forward to sharing my love of French and Music with Year 6!

In my spare time, I love to bake, run (so I can enjoy more cakes and cookies), and visit new places. I am also a member of a book club and enjoy finding new podcasts to listen to. When I am not at work, you will usually find me with a cup of tea and cake in hand or out on a walk chatting away with my friends and family!

Miss Katherine Goodenough

Hawks Class Teacher / Assistant Headteacher / DDSL/ Maths Lead / Computing Lead

Teaching Assistants:
I'm Miss Jones and I am a Teaching Assistant in Owls Class. I have been working at Ringstead since 2014. I am a trained first aider and have worked in all classes within the school at various points.  However, you will mainly see me in Early Years.

I have 2 children, a son who is training to be a police officer and a daughter who used to attend Ringstead CE Primary School, who is now in her final year of secondary education. When I'm at home I'm looking after my sausage dog, Frankie. I also enjoy painting, drawing and cooking.

Miss Sheryl Jones

Teaching Assistant - Owls Class

Hello, I'm Mrs Dunbar and I am a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Falcons class. I started here in January 2022 although I have known the school as a parent since 2014 when my daughter first came to the school. My son currently attends the school.

I love spending my spare time with my children and husband going on nature walks, baking, doing art and craft activities and going to car racing events.

Mrs Natalie Dunbar

Teaching Assistant - Owls Class

Hello, I’m Mrs Carpenter and I joined the Ringstead family in January 2021 supporting children in KS2 throughout the lockdown periods. I am enjoying my new role of Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 1 and have experience working across both Key Stages.

I have a love of Art and all that’s creative!  I previously painted for an Art Printing Company, a few of my paintings can still be purchased now. I have filled my home with paintings, my favourite medium being acrylics on canvas. I also ran an after-school club for film making, inspiring children to storyboard their ideas, a film using all the equipment and acting in front of the camera. Editing films and making children’s ideas become a reality fascinates me.

Animals play a big part in my life, and I share my home with a border terrier named BB, a Syrian hamster called Chase and three guinea pigs called Nova, Lou-Lou and Angel. I love being active, taking long walks with my dog and visiting the gym several times a week.

Mrs Kerry Carpenter

Teaching Assistant - Robins Class

I started working at Ringstead first as a parent helper, then as a TA when my eldest son was in Year 3 and my youngest in Reception Class. They have now grown up, one has been to university, and the other is in motor vehicle maintenance.

Before working at Ringstead I worked at Heathrow Airport where I found my love for travelling around the world, visiting all but one of the continents - I hope to get to Antarctica one day. I help at the Ringstead Scout Group so am often away camping, canoeing and hiking. I enjoy the cinema, going to the theatre or curling up with a good book.

Ms Jan Highmore

Teaching Assistant - Hawks Class

Hello, I'm Mrs Willmott and I started working at Ringstead in September 2022.  I have previously been a teaching assistant elsewhere within the county.  However, I thoroughly enjoy working in a smaller school with a lovely family feel and church ethos.

In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family and our dogs.  Our most recent hobby involves travelling as we adore time in the outdoors and get to enjoy this far more often now we have a camper van!

Mrs Ellen Willmott

Teaching Assistant - Kestrel Class

Hello! My name is Mrs Smith. I joined the school in May 2023 and love being part of the Ringstead family. I live in the village with my husband and three children, our two cats called Ian and Pancake, two rabbits called Ham and Cucumber and a chihuahua called Leo. Our house can be loud and busy with so many people and animals but there is never a dull moment!

I have lots of hobbies but my favourite ways to spend my free time are gardening, reading (especially science fiction and fantasy novels) writing my own stories, playing video games and spending time with my family outdoors whatever the weather!

Mrs Rebecca Smith

Teaching Assistant - Ravens

I joined the staff team at Ringstead in September 2023 to lead the After School Club.  Shortly after, I began a TA apprenticeship and I am loving my time here!  I currently live in the village and attended the school myself as a child so I am very privileged to be back where I started my education!

In my spare time I love being in the outdoors and spending time with my family.  You will often find me walking my dogs around the village!

Administrative Staff:

Since joining the Ringstead family in 2018, my role in school has indeed expanded and I am now the school’s Family Support Worker and Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator. These positions provide me with the privilege of working closely with our children and their families.

Spending quality time with family and friends is important to me. I also enjoy long walks with my dog around the many parks and open spaces that we are fortunate to have on our doorstep. Any spare time that I have is spent baking, reading or gardening.

Miss Nicole Siggery - Cleaner

I have been at Ringstead school for approximately five years. In my spare time I like to canoe and go for bike rides on our tandem, both have taken us on many long-distance adventures. We also have a mad Border collie called Holly and love taking her for walks. I have, with my husband, been playing in a local folk band Ock'n'Dough for 35 years and this has taken us all over the UK. We are also part of the committee who organise the Raunds Music Festival. We have two grown-up sons who both attended Ringstead and two lovely grandchildren who we love to spend time with.
