Ringstead Church of England Primary School

Meet the Ringstead family...

I joined Ringstead Primary School in April 2015 because the school has a wonderful, welcoming environment.   I currently teach Owl Class and enjoy every moment of the creativity and exploration within the curriculum.

In my spare time, I am a Flight Lieutenant within the RAF Reserves and teach Air Cadets two nights a week and often at weekends.  I am responsible for running the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Adventure Training on my Squadron, this involves walking, climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, tunnelling, archery and camping to name just a few activities!  My adventures take me all over the country and have even taken me abroad to places such as Gibraltar.  I look forward to visiting many more places across the world.

Mrs Helen Roberts

Head Teacher

I joined Ringstead in 2020 among all the chaos that Covid-19 brought us. Through such a difficult time, filled with uncertainty, the staff at Ringstead made me feel welcomed and safe. I am so excited to have joined a team who have demonstrated how dedicated they are to the care and nurture of the children in the Ringstead community.
Outside of school, you will either find me forcing myself through a run, or with a cup of tea and my nose in a book! I am passionate about reading for pleasure, and sharing the love of a good book.  Please do come and join me for a chat about what you’re reading on the playground so that we can swap recommendations. I have two, usually lovely, cats who provide me with hours of entertainment, cuddles and muddy paw prints! If they’re not making a mess, my son will have covered our house with Lego, magazines and paint!

I joined Ringstead in 2020 after having my first child and have thoroughly enjoyed coming back to the school, having worked here a few years ago.

Mrs Kayleigh Minards

Panda Class Teacher (part-time) / Science Subject Lead

My name is Miss Bradbury and I teach Panda Class on a Monday and Tuesday. I joined Ringstead Church of England school in January 2021. I joined the school during the national pandemic, which was a very strange time for us all but the school staff made me feel very welcome and supported me with my new position.

I am lucky to join such a lovely, warm and welcoming school with a brilliant community spirit. I have always worked in large schools but I am excited to be working within a close team and getting to know all individuals within the school.

On my days off I am busy being a mum to my son and daughter. We love to explore the outdoors visiting local parks and keeping ourselves active. I enjoy going out for dinner and spending quality time with my friends and family.

Miss Becky Bradbury

Panda Class Teacher (part-time)

I started at Ringstead in January 2017. I have taught in a range of schools, large and small but really prefer the family atmosphere of a small school like Ringstead.

Outside of school I love to read but I find I have to fit it around everything else I do! My favourite author changes but I am currently enjoying historical fiction books, I find the Tudors particularly interesting.

I am involved in the Air Cadets and love going on camps to different places around the country and abroad.

My Cocker Spaniel called Holly keeps me entertained, I love to go for walks and adventures with her. I also take her to some dog training classes, it teaches us both how to behave!

I can play the oboe and I am looking at joining an orchestra or concert band so I can enjoy playing with other people.

Miss Lowri Braines

Chameleon Class Teacher / RE & Geography Subject Lead

I joined Ringstead Primary School in September 2019 after being struck by a warm and welcoming environment.  I currently teach the Lions Class and have a real passion for Maths.

In my spare time, I love to play, watch and breathe football. I play more or less every weekend and watch the Mighty Manchester United either on TV or at Old Trafford.

I like to wind down playing computer games, reading fantasy books or practising my drawing skills. I like to cook and experiment with food which yields various results! However, the best part of cooking is the eating! I like to go to different restaurants to try new things even if it sounds odd.

Mr Aaron McKenzie-Smith

I started working at Ringstead first as a parent helper, then as a TA, when my eldest son was in Year 3 and my youngest in Reception Class. They have now grown up, one has been to university, the other is in motor vehicle maintenance.

Before working at Ringstead I worked at Heathrow Airport where I found my love for travelling around the world, visiting all but one of the continents  -  I hope to get to Antarctica one day. I help at the Ringstead  Scout Group so am often away camping, canoeing and hiking. I enjoy the cinema and going to the theatre or curling up with a good book.

Miss Clair Gamage

Teaching Assistant - Penguin Class

I was fortunate to join the Ringstead family in 2018 following a move to Northamptonshire. Having lived in Bedfordshire for 20 years, I am thoroughly enjoying visiting many new places and of course making new friends. My role in school is to listen to your concerns and offer sensitive support to help you overcome any changes in your family’s circumstances such as bereavement, financial hardship, mental well-being or relationship issues. If required, I can help you access specialist support from a wide range of services in the local area. In addition to the advice from our teachers, I can also signpost you to services that can work with you to promote your child’s positive behaviour at home and at school.
Our discussions will be dealt with confidentially, although concerns relating to the safeguarding of children will always be dealt with in accordance with the school's Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.
In my spare time I like to garden, walk and read.

For a friendly chat, contact me by telephoning the school or email me at jhickey@ringstead.northants.sch.uk
