Learning for Life Together with God’s Love

Meet the Ringstead family...

I joined Ringstead in 2012 and can honestly say it feels like home (I certainly seem to spend enough time here!)  At the top of my list of favourite things to do in my spare time is travelling to new places. I think my favourite destination so far has been Iceland.  While there I had the chance to stand with a foot on 2 different tectonic plates, visit the famous geysers and go whale watching! When I'm not so far afield I love to watch the rugby with my family and closely follow Northampton Saints.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, running and cycling, and spending time with my beautiful daughter.

I joined the Ringstead family in September 2014.  Being from the North East and true to my roots, I am a Newcastle United fan – even if we do spend most of the season in the bottom half of the table.  When I am not working, I enjoy walking my dog Bertie who I rehomed from the local animal shelter.  Even my cat, Radley, joins us for a little walk from time to time.  Bertie and I enjoy geocaching although I think he enjoys the mud more than I do.   We have now uncovered enough to hide our own little treasure box.  I have recently decorated my house and now every room has a little bit of pink in it – my favourite colour!  During the school holidays, I fill my time with creative activities such as knitting, sewing and the odd bit of shopping.

Miss Rachel Bowron - Deputy Head Teacher / Giraffe Class Teacher

I joined Ringstead School in April 2015 and love teaching here! I am a big animal-lover and live with 3 cats & a rabbit. I also am really into anything to do with technology - the TV and film industry, gaming consoles, anything to do with computers etc... Usually, I am found trying to keep up to date with the latest Disney or Marvel films, and my current favourite Disney film is Frozen (of course...!) I enjoy going to the gym to try to keep myself fit and also play two musical instruments: guitar and saxophone. I am part of a worship band at church where I play both of these instruments - but not both at once! Lastly, I do like to bake when I have a bit of spare time.

Mrs Jasmine Shaw - Lion Class Teacher

Hi I am Miss Marsh. I joined Ringstead Primary School in September 2017 and have settled in quickly. In my spare time I like to keep active. I attend Zumba classes and run regularly. In addition to this, I enjoy long walks in the countryside with Oscar my dalmatian and I have recently begun horse riding lessons. I am thoroughly enjoying my new role.

Miss Cara Marsh - Monkey Class Teacher

I started at Ringstead in January 2017. I have taught in a range of schools, large and small but really prefer the family atmosphere of a small school like Ringstead. Outside of school I love to read but I find I have to fit it around everything else I do! My favourite author changes but I am currently enjoying historical fiction books, I find the Tudors particularly interesting. I am involved in the Air Cadets and love going on camps to different places around the country and abroad. My Cocker Spaniel called Holly keeps me entertained, I love to go for walks and adventures with her. I also take her to some dog training classes, it teaches us both how to behave! I can play the oboe and I am looking at joining an orchestra or concert band so I can enjoy playing with other people.

Miss Lowri Braines - Penguin Class Teacher

I joined Ringstead Primary School in April 2015 because the school has a wonderful, welcoming environment.   I currently teach Panda Class and enjoy every moment of the creativity and exploration within the curriculum.

In my spare time, I am a Flying Officer within the RAF Reserves and teach Air Cadets two nights a week and often at weekends.  I am responsible for running the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Adventure Training on my Squadron, this involves: walking, climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, tunnelling, archery and camping to name just a few activities!  My adventures take me all over the country and have even taken me abroad to places such as Gibraltar.  I look forward to visiting many more places across the world.

Miss Helen Day - Panda Class Teacher

I joined Ringstead in 2010 after having my first child and have thoroughly enjoyed working across all the age ranges at the school. I currently work with individuals, groups and whole classes, so my days are very varied and rewarding.

Out of school I enjoy spending time with my family and working with the children and toddlers at the church we attend. In my spare time, what there is of it, I like to exercise, read and watch television! I completed my first half marathon in 2012 but have yet to commit to a full one!!! I did, however, complete a muddy obstacle race in 2013. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this, as I don’t like mud or open water, and now plan to complete more.

In the future I would like to take my girls to an ice hotel. My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the one in Sweden and I would love to see the Northern Lights again.

I joined Ringstead in September 2011 and have thoroughly enjoyed working with the children and staff. When not at Ringstead I can often be found at Kettering Hospital where I volunteer as a radio DJ on the internal radio station. I love travelling and seeing new places in this country and abroad. When relaxing you can find me curled up with a good book or feeding my pet tortoise, Tess.

Miss Julia Grunill - HLTA

I started working at Ringstead first as a parent helper, then as a TA, when my eldest son was in year 3 and my youngest in Reception Class. They have now grown up, one having been to university, the other is in motor vehicle maintenance.

Before working at Ringstead I worked at Heathrow Airport where I found my love for travelling around the world, visiting all but one of the continents  -  I hope to get to Antarctica one day. I help at the Ringstead  Scout Group so am often away camping, canoeing and hiking. I enjoy the cinema and going to the theatre or curling up with a good book.

I joined Ringstead School in January 2015, firstly as a 1-1 support worker, then as Teaching Assistant in Monkey class and since April 2015, as Family Support Worker.

I’m here 1-2 days a week offering support and guidance to our pupils, their parents and carers and even the staff!

I live locally with my husband, our 2 grown-up children and pets, a Staffy called Poppy and a Royal Python called Liquid. I have lived  in East Northants all my life and love this area of the country.

My interests are reading, cooking and spending weekends and holidays on our narrowboat – a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the beautiful River Nene (pronounced Nen, not Neeeeen !)

Administrative Staff

Hello, I’m Mrs Whatling and have worked part time as School Bursar working on all things Finance and Personnel at Ringstead since 2008.  However, I’ve also worked in Admin. in two previous schools since 1992, and before that I was Personal Assistant to the Managing Director at Scott Bader, an international chemical company based locally.  Always having lived in Northamptonshire means I love everything to do with the countryside, from walking, biking, and when I have the time – horseriding.  At the top of my list of other interests is spending family-time with my hubby, and our two sons (although our youngest son is a policeman living and working in Surrey) - also I love spending time with our two young grandsons.  I also enjoy caravanning, gardening, baking, reading and crocheting.
